InterPlay is a powerful technique for creating improvisation performances.
InterPlay empowers people to playfully create performance art through movement,
stories, songs and stillness. Diverse individuals and groups use InterPlay
to learn from and express their life experiences.
It is useful no matter what a person's experience level is as a performer.
Even newcomers to performing have created improvisational performances that
are satisfying and refreshing for both audience and performers.
WING IT! was the first InterPlay performing group, and now there are several
around the world.
WING IT! Performance Ensemble
WING IT! Performance Ensemble was formed by Phil Porter and Cynthia Winton-Henry in 1989.
Each concert they create is different. Broad themes and provocative titles shape performances, but pieces are created on the spot weaving dance, story and music.
WING IT! is known both for its humor, poignancy and sheer humanity. They have performed in theaters throughout the country and in Australia. They also create special events for social service agencies, conferences, schools and in other settings. They have performed countless benefits for a variety of organizations.
This Oakland-based company has spawned other InterPlay-based performance companies in Seattle, Chicago, Texas, and Raleigh/Durham. More About WING IT!
