Ongoing Weekly Classes at InterPlayce

Classes begin again on January 7, 2008.

Six opportunities each week to drop-in at InterPlayce for a class. Play when it is convenient for you! Mon 10:30 am-12 noon (women), Tues 6-7:30 pm, Wed 10:30 am-12 noon & 7:30-9 pm Thu 7-8:30 pm, Fri 10:30 am-12 noon.

InterPlay Leadership Level 2

There are several upcoming opportunities to fullfill Level 2 requirements. Secrets of InterPlay 2 will happen at InterPlayce in Oakland Feb 22-24 and in Conneticut Jul 17-20. This multi-day workshop covers the underlying structure and philosophy behind the InterPlay system. How do you figure out which forms to do at what times? What is the nature of the relationship between participant and leader? Along with so much more!

Teaching Practicums will happen Feb 1-3 in Raleigh, NC and May 9-11 in Oakland, CA. Practice teaching InterPlay and receive information on designing and leading InterPlay events, as well as teaching resources.

Both Secrets 2 and the Teaching Practicum are core components of Level 2 of the InterPlay Leadership Program.

Gifted and Sensitive Bodies

Easily overwhelmed? Anxious? Stressed? Depressed? This is both a gift and a curse. Amy Smith knows first hand the challenge and joy of working with high-end empathy and sensitivity. Gifted and Sensitive Bodies happens Feb 8–9, 2008 at InterPlayce in Oakland.

Malawi Wowee!

Chikondi is the word for love!

This will be a global Valentine’s Party celebrating Sights, Sounds, and Spirit from InterPlay’s trip to the Warm Heart of Africa. Over a dozen Bay Area InterPlayers went along. Come hear what they noticed and learned on Saturday, Feb 16, 7:30 pm at InterPlayce in Oakland. InterPlay Goes to India

Cynthia Winton-Henry, Gretchen Wegner, Katherine Kunz, and Cathy Chang from InterPlay California and Gary Field from InterPlay Australia are bringing InterPlay to the village of Vasai, North of Mumbai in January 2008. InterPlay Leadership graduate Prashant Olalekar extended the invitation for this global exchange. In this cross-cultural education oppotunity, these InterPlayers will lead two weekends of the philosophy and the forms of InterPlay.

December and January are wedding months in India. Before leading and doing InterPlay, Gretchen and Katherine are heading to two traditional Indian weddings. Gretchen and Katharine are keeping a blog of their travel experience for Gretchen’s 6th Grade students in Moraga, CA. Cynthia and Phil Go To Australia

InterPlay co-founders Cynthia Winton-Henry and Phil Porter have traveled to Australia to teach InterPlay every January for the past 15 years. This year they are teaching in Sydney Jan 16-19 and in Adelaide Jan 23-26 offering The Secrets of InterPlay as well as an Untensive.

InterPlay Australia has been around almost as long as InterPlay’s existence due to the amazing leadership of Rod Pattenden and Trish Watts. Check out the new InterPlay Australia website.

InterPlay artist Mary Sobrina Kuder and InterPlay Intern Amy Shoemaker organized an amazing evening at InterPlayce. Urban Altered or Praying Upside Down was an evening of art, music, costumes, and fun.

InterPlay founders Cynthia Winton-Henry & Phil Porter teamed up with WING IT! member and International InterPlay leader, Masankho Banda, to take a group of InterPlayers to Masankho’s homeland in Africa. 43 InterPlayers from the United States and Australia went to visit the village of Tukombo in Malawi as peace ambassadors. They played, connected, learned, and experienced a world that changed their global point of view.
